Kenny Neal recently made his yearly trip to Las Vegas and the Railhead at Boulder Station. Although the band does not consist entirely of blood brothers, they are certaintly all blues brothers in every sense. In addition to bassist brother Noel and keyboardist Freddy, Kenny brought along drummer Tony Coleman on his current tour.
Kenny and his band opened with "TAKE IT ON LITTLE BROTHER", which featured some smooth guitar work by Kenny. "WON'T YOU PLEASE FORGIVE ME" was the next song, then Kenny put down his guitar and picked up the harmonica for his next two songs, "I WONDER WHO'S LOVING YOU TONIGHT" and "RAINING IN MY HEART". These two songs showed what an underrated harmonica player Kenny Neal is. A little Cajun blues was next - a Jimmy Reed medley featuring "GOING TO NEW YORK", "GOT ME DIZZY" and "GOT ME RUNNING".
The Neal brothers and Tony Coleman finished the set strong, playing "ANY FOOL WILL DO" and a Cajun zydeco number, "NO ONE CARE ABOUT YOU", a song mixing in the Hank Williams' "JAMBALAYA" riff, and the New Orleans classic "WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN". The audience, as usual for Kenny and band, was delighted.
