What were you doing when you were fifteen?

J.D. Simo Not everyone appreciates this Jimi Hendrix Experience/Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble styled trio, but I believe in this 15 year old soon-to-be guitar master. Whether it's their cover of Stevie Ray's "Cold Shot" or "Texas Flood", or "Voodoo Chile" and "Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix, J.D. Simo makes them his own.

Simo doesn't make you forget Jimi or Stevie Ray but reminds you of what you've missed. His own songs like "Can't Say No" and "Lost Your Way" show great promise. The self penned instrumental "Remembering You", a song written to his guitar heroes, is done with deep affection and flair and will make you forget that he's just a kid.

Next time J.D. Simo and Dirty Pool are in town you souldn't miss them. They are a very energetic and talented band. And if you're put off by the high volume, or J.D.'s age, just think back to what you were doing when you were fifteen.

Dirty Pool is J.D. Simo on guitar and vocals. T-Bone Caradonna, formerly of the Lita Ford and Alice Cooper touring bands, on bass. And Thomas "Freight Train" Walker on drums.
