Austrailian native Dave Hole learned his unique style of slide guitar playing after breaking his finger. He liked the tone it made by playing with his left hand over the top instead of underneath the neck. Now well into his career, his current tour finally brought him to the US and the Railhead in Las Vegas.
Dave and his band took to the stage and instantly took over the crowd. Between Hole's firey slide work and his hopping around and duckwalking, how could you not like this guy? "TAKE ME TO CHICAGO" and "THE BOTTLE" got the fans all reved up. And Fleetwood Mac's instrumental "ALBATROSS" was done perfectly.
"EVERY GIRL I SEE" kept up the fast pace for the next song, "YOU MOVE ME SO". The song "HOW LONG" had the crowd mesmerized at Dave's fast fretwork. Finally, "THE KEY TO THE HIGHWAY" brought this exhausting set to its end.
"NOBODY HEARS ME CRYING" got the second set off right where the first one ended. The title song of Dave's latest CD, "OUTSIDE LOOKING IN," kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. "MORE LOVE, LESS ATTITUDE" was thrilling to watch performed. And "NOBODY" (except Hole!) kept the fans cheering for more. Dave Hole's slide version of the Hendrix classic "PURPLE HAZE" left the crowd awestruck to end his show.
